In my opinion, autobiographies are one of the hardest things to write, so I'll try my best to describe myself in these paragraphs.

First, the basics: I'm a teenage girl who was born in China, and am currently residing in Canada. Contrary to made-up stereotypes, Canadian adolescents don't ride polar bears to school, and we don't smother all our food in maple syrup. Also, our winters are brutal, but not 11 months long (as said in the movie Canadian Bacon external link). Anyways, back to information about me; as you can see, I get distracted very easily, which makes this introduction even harder to write. Nevertheless, I will continue on, as another one of my qualities is that I always finish what I've started; one of my better characteristics.

I'm an only child, but in my opinion I am far from spoiled. My parents make sure that I'm always grateful for what I have (this is, for the most part, a true stereotype about Asian parents), and they make sure I've always earned what I received. I might not have all the things I want in the world, but this "builds character"...and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have many hobbies, but the two most important ones are my piano and my art. I'm in grade 10 piano at the moment (my exam's in January, yikes!), and I have been playing for 5 years. I love music; I wouldn't say that it's my life, but it is certainly a substantial part of it. Art used to be my number one priority, but sadly it because less important for me over the years. I used to be obsessed with anime (now I find it to be a horrible representation of the human body, I mean, our eyes don't actually take up three quarters of our face!), but after I started taking art lessons, I learned to sketch and draw better. Here are some examples of my sketches. I believe art was one of the main things that led me to web-design in the first place, so I hope to continue on with it.

I do well in school, and my favourite subjects are science and math. School has not always been easy for me, since when I moved to Canada in Grade 2, I didn't speak any English at all. It became even more confusing in Grade 4 when I started core French, but I overcame my troubles, and now I'm in French Immersion at my current school. It's actually pretty amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it.

I consider myself a very lucky girl to have close friends whom I know will be there for me no matter what. (Cheesy? Yeah...I don't know how to put it any other way though, so bear with me) Throughout my childhood I've always been supported by my family members, so I can honestly say that friends and family are the two most important things in life.

I'm pretty sure I've blabbed on for longer than it was necessary, but I hope you feel like you know me a little better now. Not that I gave a lot away, but don't try to figure out where I live. (by the way, I'm a bit paranoid, have I mentioned that?) I think I'll end this with... a quote:

"She's the kind of girl who lights up a room just by flicking a switch."
